This elegant and exotic resort houses just over 100 luxurious rooms, including suites, with the most coveted being the aptly named Kohinoor (named after the legendary Indian diamond). Sprawled in the center of Oberoi’s top floor, Kohinoor boasts three open-air terraces, each with magnificent vistas of the Taj Mahal. Designed to provide optimal vistas of both the monument and the area’s gorgeous scenery, every room in the suite is outfitted with wide expanses of glass. Kohinoor is decorated with ornately designed floor coverings in rich colors. Maroons, golds, warm browns and creams are swirled throughout the suite, imbuing it with what could be termed a classic Indian look and feel. Modern luxury and exotic beauty intertwine throughout, often evoking feelings of comfort, warmth and wonder.
The suite includes a bedroom, complete with dressing room, walk-in closet and open-air terrace accessible by French-style glass doors, a spacious living room, a dining room that seats about eight to 10 guests, and a study equipped with a telescope through which visitors can examine the Taj Mahal. The spacious white marble and granite bathroom is dominated by a freestanding bathtub positioned beside a large single-pane glass window to allow guests to gaze at the monument even while indulging in long, luxurious baths.
At Oberoi, guests can enjoy first-class service, amenities and facilities. You can savor fine international and local cuisine at the Bellevue restaurant. If you prefer a more exotic dining experience, the Esphahân, also known as The Indian Restaurant, offers a variety of gourmet Indian dishes.
